The National Restaurant Association reports that both operators and restaurant patrons are interested in becoming “greener” in 2009. “About four in 10 full-service restaurant operators and nearly three in 10 quick-service operators say they plan to devote more of their 2009 budgets to green initiatives. Restaurant patrons like the idea: 44 percent surveyed stated they are likely to make a restaurant choice based on an operation’s practices in the areas of energy and water conservation.”

The Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program of the New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association (NHLRA) will host the event on April 14, 2009 at the Radisson Hotel Nashua in Nashua, New Hampshire. In an effort to bring hospitality professionals together with companies who provide eco-friendly products and services, the NHLRA has partnered with counterparts across New England: Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Programs, Restaurant & Lodging Associations, state Travel & Tourism departments, and state Environmental Protection & Services departments. All partners are committed to promoting the event to their members, managing in-state media and involving the hospitality industry in their respective states.
